We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest team member, Devon Taylor, who has taken on the role of Events Manager here at the Burn Fund. With her impressive background in fundraising, a deep commitment to our mission, and a heart full of passion, Devon is set to bring a fresh perspective and energy to our events and initiatives.

Devon’s journey into the world of philanthropy began at an early age. Devon was inspired by her mother’s courageous battle with toxic epidermal necrolysis, a rare complication of Systemic Lupus, which led to her mother’s treatment in a burn unit during the 1980s. This experience instilled in Devon a profound appreciation for the dedicated fire fighters and medical professionals who cared for her mother, and she has since made it her mission to give back.

Over the past fifteen years, Devon has honed her skills in event planning and fundraising, dedicating her efforts to various charitable causes – including working with the Alzheimer Society of B.C. for five years. She has served on the boards of organizations like York House School, BC Lupus Society, Jest for Joy (a clown doctoring charity) and several local indie theater companies, leveraging her expertise to make a meaningful impact.

In her new role at the Burn Fund, Devon will spearhead the management of our flagship events and fundraisers, including the beloved Bright Nights and the prestigious Responder Dinner. As a mother of two young children, she is deeply committed to our mission of spreading awareness about burns and prevention. Her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a major in acting, has also infused her with creativity and a unique approach to event planning.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Devon relishes spending quality time with her family and embarking on exciting adventures to the Gulf Islands. She envisions using her skills to enhance the Burn Fund’s profile, ensuring that the public not only understands what we do but also why we do it.

Please join us in welcoming Devon Taylor to the Burn Fund family. With her dedication and passion, we look forward to reaching new heights in our efforts to support burn survivors and promote burn prevention. Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming events, where you’ll have the chance to meet Devon in person and witness her enthusiasm firsthand.
