The BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund is proud to announce the return of Bright Nights, one of BC’s most beloved holiday traditions – now featured as part of the Noel Holiday Light Festival at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds from November 28 to December 28, 2025.

This year’s Bright Nights display will shine brighter than ever with nearly three million lights, thousands of volunteer hours from more than 800 fire fighters, and a heartfelt community tradition that has raised millions to support burn survivors across BC and the Yukon.

A Legacy of Light and Love

Bright Nights traces its roots back to the mid-1980s when Surrey residents Bob Wingfield and Marg Barrett transformed their Newton home into a dazzling holiday light display. With the help of Surrey Fire Fighters, the display drew thousands of visitors each year, raising funds for burn survivors at Vancouver General Hospital.

In 1997, Bob and Marg donated their collection to the Burn Fund, creating Bright Nights in Stanley Park, which went on to operate for more than 25 years. This year, their legacy comes full circle – returning home to Surrey as part of Noel Surrey.

What to Expect at Noel Surrey

Guests can stroll through the magical Bright Nights light display around the pond at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre, explore the 30,000+ sq. ft. Noel Village, and enjoy:
– Photos with Santa, the green and grumpy one, and holiday characters
– Live music and festive performances
– A dining hub and expanded Christmas market
– Complimentary rides on a 50-ft Ferris wheel and bumper cars (on select dates)
– Free admission for children 6 and under and free parking
– Unlimited access to all entertainment, attractions, and rides -with no time limits

In addition, Noel Surrey works with local school districts to provide tickets for low-income families, ensuring the magic of the season is shared widely across the community.

Supporting Burn Survivors

The Burn Fund will continue its tradition of welcoming donations at the festival. Funds raised will support vital programs for burn survivors, including Home Away at the Burn Fund Centre, a safe and welcoming place for those undergoing treatment in Vancouver. A portion of proceeds from Noel Surrey will also directly benefit the Burn Fund, helping survivors and their families find hope and healing this holiday season.
