The Valley haunt is the brain child of Karen and her 14 year old daughter daughter Paisia, who love to combine the macabre with their creativity. Paisia takes on the web design and media outreach and Karen gets dirty with building props and laying out a haunt that will excite and likely give you a bit of a fright. This year is bigger and better with 3D animations, animatronics and creepy costumes all laid out in three 40 foot storage containers full of thrills. It all began about 15 years ago, when Karen Dietz, the ambition behind The Valley Haunt, decided to create a small Halloween set-up to entertain the neighbourhood children. It started off as a basicgraveyard with an occasional ghost and ghoul lurking around, but it did NOT stop there. Every year, it grew….and it grew….and it grew into what we now know as The Valley Haunt.
In the last few years, The Valley Haunt has taken off as one of must-see haunts in the Vancouver area. Karen and her 14 year old daughter, Paisia, have strived to upgrade and improve the haunt as the years go by. Last year, we began taking donations for the BC Professional Firefighters’ Burn Fund, an amazing organization. We were able to raise over $1200 for the fund and would love to increase that number in the following years.
For the 2016 Halloween season, we are putting a unique twist on the haunt, as it will be enclosed in walk-through shipping containers. THE VALLEY HAUNT: CONTAINED will be bigger, better, and scarier than ever before. Come visit us if you are ready to face your fears!
