The Summer Burn Camp, an annual program of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, is a highlight for young burn survivors & our dedicated Counselors. Attending camp helps to build self-confidence and self-worth in every child. This includes encouragement toward self-efficacy, social skills and social risk-taking. The experience provides an opportunity for child burn survivors (ages 6 -18) to share and be with others who have similar challenges. Many young campers have gone on to become Junior Counselors, a tremendous role model situation and healing for all participants.
The Burn Fund will host the camp this July at Cheakamus Centre in Brackendale, BC.
