This years Burn Camp will be held July 16 to 21, 2023, in Squamish, BC. Camp Kick-Off is taking place on Sunday July 16th and will be hosted by the District of North Vancouver Local 1183. Thank you to the incredible volunteers who make Burn Camp possible every summer.
Each year Burn Camp welcomes around 70 young burn survivors and 70 camp counselors and support staff for a week of empowerment, connection, and fun. Campers are burn survivors aged six to 18 and counselors are fire fighter and medical professionals who volunteer a week of their time to attend Camp.
Burn Camp takes place the third week of July at the Cheakamus Centre in Brackendale with the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund covering all Burn Camp expenses. The camp itself is organized by a dedicated group of six fire fighters and one nurse volunteer. Many of the committee members have been volunteering over a decade.
The Burn Fund relies on the generosity of donors and its fire fighter community to fund Burn Camp.
