This April 1st, 2018 the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund turns 40!
Four decades ago Fire Fighters visiting patients in the Burn Unit saw a critical need and started contributing money for Burn Unit medical equipment and to help patients on their journey to recovery. Inspired by such spontaneous generosity, Captain Alex Blake from the Coquitlam Fire Department proposed a province-wide initiative……And the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund was formed.
Our Burn Survivor Support and Educational programs are successful due to the immense support given by our province’s professional fire fighter locals, their members and our sponsors and donors.
As we move into our 40th year, we continue to expand our support to the burn community by creating new and improved programs.
