Burn Survivor Heidi Cave has a message of hope and survival
A moment that should have destroyed a life has instead become a journey that impacts, encourages, and inspires others to greatness.  Heidi was 23 years old in 1998 when the car she was driving was hit so hard that it tumbled into a ravine, caught fire, and killed her friend sitting in the passenger’s seat. Heidi was burned over 52 percent of her body, ultimately endured more than 20 surgeries and had both legs amputated below her knees.  Still, she never gave up. “This was the life I had now. What was I going to do with it?” she asked. “I fought not to shut down. I fought to live again.”   Today, Heidi does not identify herself as a victim. She is compassionate. She is hopeful. She is ambitious. She is a survivor.  Her story.
