The British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund is dedicated to burn prevention as well as survivor support and recovery programs in the province of British Columbia. The organization is committed to providing financial assistance for the purchase of equipment, training of medical staff and the operation of a children's burn survivor camp.

Constitution

1. The name of the Society is the BRITISH COLUMBIA PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS' BURN FUND.
   
2. The general purpose of the society is to assist burn survivors by providing equipment, training and financial assistance. The specific purposes of the Society are:

a) To raise money to upgrade and purchase new equipment for hospitals in British Columbia;
b) To assist in education of staff in Hospitals throughout British Columbia;
c) To provide public education in the treatment and care of burn survivors;
d) To engage in any activity which is conducive to or incidental to the purpose of the Society;
e) To engage in the operation of recreational activities for burn survivors, including a burn camp.
   
3. In the event that the society should at any time be wound up or dissolved, the assets remaining after payment of all debt and liabilities shall be turned over to a recognized charitable organization in the Province of British Columbia or elsewhere in Canada.
This provision is unalterable.
   
4. The society shall be carried on without purpose of gain for its members and any profits or other accretions to the society shall be used for promoting its purposes.

This provision is unalterable.

a) The Directors shall not accept an application for membership from any person whose application is not accompanied by a statement in writing by the President of the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters' Association, approving that person for membership in the Society.
   
5. The Society shall carry on works exclusively of a charitable nature.

This clause is unalterable.
   
6. The Directors shall serve without remuneration, and the Directors shall not receive, directly or indirectly, any profits from their position as Directors but may be paid expenses incurred by them in the performance of their duties.
